This position is for a Systems Architect within Nokia's Optical Architecture group, specifically focusing on Layer Zero DWDM. The role is part of the Optical Networks division, which has expanded with the acquisition of Infinera, aiming to lead in the AI-driven data center era. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to lead the design and architecture of novel optical DWDM communication systems. Responsibilities include architecting and implementing new software platforms in collaboration with Systems Architecture, Systems Engineering, and Software Development teams. The role also involves developing innovative, competitive product architectures and requirements for packet-optical telecommunications products, based on an understanding of business requirements, use cases, and applicable industry standards (like ITU, IEEE). The architect will need to consider trade-offs between cost, function, capacity, and performance. The products to be developed include optical network equipment such as optical line systems, ROADMs, optical line interfaces/transponders/muxponders, OTN switches, and other transport and switching network elements.
