About The Position

Systems Architect/Cloud Engineer This position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance. A Systems Architect/Cloud Engineer designs and oversees the implementation of complex IT infrastructures, utilizing cloud technologies to optimize performance, scalability, and security. They blend expertise in system design with in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms to develop efficient and resilient solutions tailored to meet organizational needs. Requirements

  • A current TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
  • Technical degree with Five (5) years of relevant experience, or Four (4) additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Cloud and systems administration experience (ranging from application management to network management) and/or public cloud certification – to include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, securing, and automating the deployment of both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Hands-on cloud and virtualization experience and can function across multiple cloud/virtualization providers such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, VMWare, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and contributing to a full range of architectural and engineering documentation, such as System Security Plans, architecture diagrams, and/or other related program documents.
  • Experience with event correlation and root cause analysis.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
  • As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience writing Linux shell scripts (bash preferred).
  • Experience with writing cloud deployment scripts.
  • Demonstrated experience with development and/or maintenance of large-scale enterprise programs which include the integration of COTS solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with Splunk Enterprise to include software installation, forwarder configuration, and Splunk App deployment(s).
  • Experience with host-based and/or endpoint protection configuration, such as a VPN solution.
  • Demonstrated experience with network security best practice configuration in cloud computing environments.
  • Experience testing secure network designs by running Wireshark PCAP data captures and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience with mobile Android emulators, e.g., Genymotion.

Responsibilities

  • Complex problem solving across multiple commercial cloud provider capability implementations and internet-based applications.
  • Commercial cloud capability design and implementation for new and existing Sponsor capabilities.
  • Customization and configuration of COTS products and required peripherals.
  • Configuration of cloud hosted load balancers, routing tables, NAT gateways, VPC peering connections, VPN appliances, and other commercial cloud configurations.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and interact with senior managers, technical personnel, partners, and customers.
  • Research both existing technology and emerging technology and be able to rapidly design, test, document, and deploy mission impactful technology.
  • Non-engineering tasks such as account creations, account setups, process improvement, etc.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
