About The Position

At Walmart Global Tech, our Compute Engineering Services (CES) team is the foundation that keeps our enterprise data centers running at scale. From powering innovation in AI and cloud systems to enabling reliable in-store and eCommerce operations, our electricians ensure every circuit, PDU, and system connection contributes to the seamless experiences of millions of customers around the world. Our team is responsible for deploying and maintaining the physical infrastructure that powers Walmart's global data centers — the backbone of our digital and retail operations. This includes server installations, rack configurations, cabling, in-rack power management, PDU replacements, and environmental monitoring. We work cross-functionally with store systems, network engineering, and eCommerce teams to ensure our technology foundation supports Walmart's global innovation and reliability standards.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician License (required).
  • Proven hands-on experience in critical infrastructure environments, including vendor oversight and power maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations, NFPA codes, and electrical compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data center power systems, utility plant components, or building automation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Service Now for documentation and maintenance management.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on documentation, SOPs, and process improvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across engineering, mechanical, and operations teams.
  • Familiarity with mechanical plant systems (HVAC, chillers, and generators) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and electrical systems supporting compute and server infrastructure.
  • Perform load balancing, power safety checks, and preventive maintenance to maintain uptime across high-demand environments.
  • Support electrical testing, commissioning, and data center expansion projects, ensuring all work meets code and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure all installations support compute systems' operational and performance goals.
  • Conduct environmental and power audits, document system changes, and participate in infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and internal safety standards while contributing to continuous process and reliability improvements.
