About The Position

The Systems Analyst, operating with discretion and judgment in alignment with the Director of Technology, is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing IT systems, hardware, and network software. This role includes managing daily IT operations such as servers, telephones, networking, disaster recovery, firewalls, and workstations, ensuring seamless connectivity across all approved devices. Key responsibilities involve planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining applications, infrastructure, security, networks, and technology training in collaboration with the Director of Technology and department heads. This includes consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications; designing, developing, documenting, analyzing, creating, testing, and modifying computer systems or programs (including prototypes) based on user or system design specifications. The Systems Analyst also serves as a Tier 3 Microsoft Office 365 expert, resolving complex issues efficiently, performing systems analysis, and designing, documenting, testing, and modifying computer systems or machine operating programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications and equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Three to Five years of demonstrated experience with highly technical, experience delivering enterprise technology, installation and management of Microsoft Office 365 software installation including infrastructure, and services in Private/Public Cloud and Virtual environment.
  • One-year project management experience.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations and policies in a technical environment that is constantly changing.
  • Capable of making sound decisions and responding calmly in stressful situations. Operates within organizational structure, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the latest advances in software and technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to ask clarifying questions. Proven customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex problem solving and assistance on diverse software applications and hardware systems for department users and/or the YWCA community.
  • Performs diverse technical assistance, document findings and performs maintenance duties in support of large program that encompass a variety of users support needs.
  • Maintains, updates, and audits record keeping systems; documents projects, writes and maintains user instructions.
  • Oversees, maintains, and inputs applicable records such as, but not limited to, network user’s security, and tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials.
  • Performs advances technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoots and resolves complex system hardware, software, and network failures.
  • Participates in and/or leads the review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions and/or network updates.
  • Participates in and/or leads research and development initiatives and provides assistance in implementation of new technologies.
  • Serves as a primary project member on technology projects with large scope and impact; may lead and integrate the work of other staff.
  • Performs the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, networks, workstations and/or related equipment and devices.
  • Performs access management using active directory per YWCA’s guidelines.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, solve, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers.
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsources, and contractors to secure software products and services.
  • Provide input and requirements during process and control design by outside partners.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfiguration, server backups and server hardening.
  • Provide tier 3 support to YWCA’s programs by monitoring the Office 365 tenants, monitor and test performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with others within the Technology Department to resolve issues. Ensures employees’ connectivity, software distribution and mobile installation issues are resolved.
  • Develops and documents best practices for supporting the Office 365 application and assist with developing appropriate support model.
  • Facilitates Office 365 migration within YWCA Kalamazoo programs. Set-up administrator and service accounts, install system wide software.
  • Keeps abreast of relevant technologies within the industry.
  • Requires local travel using personal vehicle, company vehicle, or other motorized vehicle.
  • Attends all team and staff meetings, participates in collective team and agency efforts, and complies with all YWCA Kalamazoo policies and practices.
  • Remains flexible and manages changing priorities on a continuing basis.
  • Knows and adheres to Association policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Safeguards confidential information gained because of the position.
  • Complies with Association policy regarding required reporting of child abuse.
  • As a YWCA employee, projects a positive image of the Association and its programs to the community.
