The Systems Analyst/Sr Systems Analyst position at American Airlines is part of the IT Enterprise Programs Team within the Regional and Sales IT Division. This role is primarily responsible for providing IT support to the American Eagle Operational Control Centers, ensuring that the systems used for dispatch, crew scheduling, and maintenance operate efficiently. The analyst will deliver end-user support, troubleshoot software issues, and lead initiatives to improve IT operations applications, aligning with the strategic objectives of the airline.

  • Participate in the support of existing and future applications.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of required software applications to support the Operational Control Centers.
  • Assist with software upgrades and implementations by reviewing documentation, testing, and coordinating with development teams and business units.
  • Own documented IT processes and provide departmental guidance on business/systems analyst best practices.
  • Communicate application issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and vendors.
  • Partner with business units to determine project priorities and clarify business needs.
  • Provide operational support/troubleshooting during a weekly after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Support monthly server patching and participate in disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining remote desktop farms.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting complex airline business applications in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex computer systems/problems; strong troubleshooting skills.
  • 2+ years airline experience supporting Regional Airline Operations systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a hybrid work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related IT field.
  • Airline Dispatcher License/Crew Scheduling Leadership.
  • Proficient with existing IT systems that impact American Eagle Airlines.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in Regional IT Airline operations.
  • CAE SME in Ops systems used in the Operational Control Centers.
  • Experience in large implementations of Ops systems in the Operational Control Centers.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting complex business applications in a large enterprise environment as per DevOps principles in an Agile environment.
  • Training in appropriate monitoring & alerting and environmental support.
