About The Position

The Systems Analyst II (QA Automation Engineer) supports the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) by analyzing business requirements and delivering high -quality automated testing solutions. This role evaluates user needs, performs system analysis, and develops detailed documentation to support application enhancements and automation initiatives. The position focuses on designing and maintaining Selenium -based automation frameworks while ensuring comprehensive functional, regression, integration, and API testing coverage. Working within an Agile environment, the Analyst collaborates with cross -functional teams to improve software quality, integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, and provide data -driven quality metrics. This is a hybrid position requiring both onsite and remote work in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.
  • 7 years of hands -on experience with Selenium WebDriver and automation tools.
  • 7 years of experience with Java (preferred) or C#/Python for automation scripting.
  • 7 years of experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
  • 7 years of experience with TestNG, JUnit, or NUnit; Maven or Gradle; and Git.
  • 7 years of experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • 7 years of experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, or similar).
  • 7 years of strong SQL experience for backend validation.
  • 6 years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • 6 years of experience in test planning, test strategy, regression strategy, risk -based testing, and advanced test case design techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own testing for a feature or module.

Nice To Haves

  • 7 years of experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow.
  • 7 years of experience with Selenium Grid and parallel execution.
  • 7 years of experience testing cloud -based applications (Azure or AWS).
  • 7 years of experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
  • 5 years of experience with containerization tools such as Docker.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and shift -left testing methodologies.
  • Experience testing microservices -based architectures.
  • Knowledge of security testing fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business objectives, user requirements, and operational procedures to identify automation and system improvement opportunities.
  • Develop detailed documentation outlining user needs, program functions, and system modifications.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
  • Develop and enhance scalable automation frameworks (data -driven, hybrid, or BDD).
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and API testing.
  • Create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Conduct defect tracking, root cause analysis, and impact assessments.
  • Perform backend validation using SQL queries.
  • Provide test coverage analysis and quality metrics reporting to stakeholders.
