The Systems Analyst II, Enterprise Applications at Lone Star College focuses on a variety of technical work and analysis required for the development of user and systems security requirements. This role involves performing highly complex tasks that include planning, designing, programming, installation, and maintenance of college systems. As a member of a 24/7/365 global department, the position requires availability for on-call and after-hour support, ensuring that the college's systems are operational and secure at all times. In this role, the Systems Analyst will implement business analysis and change management as needed, researching, planning, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading systems. The analyst will maintain a broad knowledge of technology, equipment, and systems within their field of work, developing and maintaining internal cross-functional relationships with users and key security groups to enhance both physical and digital security across the college system. The position also involves identifying complex problems, troubleshooting, and providing solutions to assist users effectively. The Systems Analyst will interact with vendors to resolve problems and stay updated on new system updates. They will assist users in formulating requirements and advise on alternatives and implications, analyze, design, and implement plans for new systems or processes, and provide recommendations for optimizing standard processes. Collaboration with other technical staff is essential to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. The analyst will also assist with the application of patches, installing software, managing the application and database environment, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting alerts. Additionally, the role may involve assisting with project coordination and other reasonable, related duties as assigned.
