Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, patient accounting, and billing workflows.
  • 5+ years of experience as a systems analyst supporting billing and accounts receivable platforms.
  • 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, or training on revenue cycle IT solutions.
  • Strong experience with athenaIDX or similar healthcare practice management systems preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of managed care contracting and healthcare reimbursement processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly collaborative mindset with the ability to lead change, train users, and manage complex projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience with athenaIDX or similar healthcare practice management systems preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and optimize athenaIDX payer contracting and credentialing systems, including PCM and ETM environments.
  • Manage payer fee schedules, contract configurations, uploads, troubleshooting, and payment variance analysis.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, translating business requirements into scalable system solutions.
  • Perform daily application maintenance, resolve system errors, and support third-party revenue cycle vendors.
  • Analyze current workflows, document business processes, and develop future-state process improvements.
  • Create functional specifications, workflow diagrams, training materials, and system documentation.
  • Lead system testing, implementation support, and post-deployment reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with revenue cycle, payer strategy, clinical, and IT stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
