The System Administrator is responsible for the configuration and maintenance of endpoints in use by different types of ICS users from novice to advanced that work in-house, remote (domestic and international) and installed in different jail facilities. This position tests, installs, and deploys multiple operating systems and applications using industry standard tools, while maintaining an appropriate balance between security and usability. This position requires a firm commitment to providing exceptional customer service, the ability to effectively prioritize, and strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Provide advanced endpoint system administration and support in a heterogeneous environment (Windows OS, Mac OS, Linux, and Virtual Environments) with a high focus on endpoint security; software provisioning; patch management; endpoint lifecycle; service automation; and usability.
  • Create, test, deploy and manage images for Windows OS (Intune) and workstation/application.
  • Verify hardware and software compatibility and stability in preparation of upgrades to operating systems or enterprise infrastructure.
  • Consult with users, departmental leaders, distributed IT peers and service providers to evaluate endpoint use cases and introduce enhancements to meet or exceed needs and expectations, increase security, and enhance the user experience.
  • Assist with the documentation, training, research, and mentoring on technical solutions for technology staff to improve efficiency and quality of technology service delivery and support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience or master's degree with 1 year of experience working with endpoint management tools. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • High-level knowledge of analysis, PowerShell scripting, project management methods and techniques.
  • Experience with Azure Management and Office 365 Management.
  • Experience using OS deployment tools e.g. Intune; systems management tools e.g. Endpoint Manager, or similar.
  • Experience with Fortinet EMS cloud and SSL VPN.
  • High-level knowledge of hardware/software, firewall, system monitoring, automated deployment, automated patching, and information security practices and methodologies.
  • Expert knowledge of current and prior versions of Microsoft operating systems.
  • Intermediate scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, Bash, Python).
  • Fundamental understanding of common networking topology and protocols.
