About The Position

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing new and rebuilding existing servers, configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. The role includes applying OS patches and upgrades regularly, upgrading administrative tools and utilities, and performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.

Responsibilities

• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis.
• Upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
• Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
• Plan and execute projects involving company-wide installation of, or upgrades to PC based office automation packages.
• Assist the Networking, Desktop and Programming groups in planning projects involving configuration changes at the Server level.
• Establish company-wide hardware and office automation software standards.
• Maintain and report on inventory information of all hardware.
• Recommend and participate in decision making for hardware and office automation software purchases.
• Hire and direct services of third party network consultants and contractors.
