About The Position

Peraton’s Cyber Mission supports the United States Air Force by delivering mission-critical Cyber professionals who defend our nation’s security. Our team of experts provides innovative engineering, logistics, sustainment, and customer support to ensure the functionality of network infrastructure, while addressing the most complex cyber operations and national defense challenges. Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator to support our mission to defend and protect our national security. The Systems Administrator provides advanced technical support for enterprise systems, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient operations. They manage configurations, troubleshoot complex issues, and coordinate with stakeholders to maintain optimal system performance in support of mission objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or PhD. Will accept four additional years of experience in lieu of degree
  • US Citizenship and a current active TOP SECRET Clearance with SCI.
  • Must comply with DoD 8140/DCWF Work Role 451 requirements, including holding an approved baseline certification and meeting all KSAs for managing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect information systems.
  • Demonstrated experience administering enterprise IT systems in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, or Unix.
  • Experience applying security hardening guidelines and maintaining compliance with system security standards.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with automation tools for system administration such as Ansible or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based environments and hybrid infrastructure management.
  • Background in Active Directory administration and Group Policy management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of enterprise IT systems including servers, storage, and operating environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and system utilities.
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization, implementing tuning as needed.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations to maintain compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Create and maintain system documentation including configurations, procedures, and logs.
