We are currently hiring for a dynamic and experienced Systems Administrator. Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Up to 10% travel. Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to act as the sole technical contributor supporting a mission-critical environment. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional who can deep-dive into complex issues, work independently, and maintain, optimize, and secure enterprise systems with minimal oversight. Consulting experience is a plus. General Skillset Experience with Microsoft Office Verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both collaboratively and individually Critical Thinking Skills Ability to give presentations and briefings as needed Specific Skillset Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016/2019+, including AD, GPO, and DNS Manage and support physical & virtual server systems (hardware, OS, applications, databases) Perform system upgrades, patching, and performance optimization Administer SAN/NAS enterprise storage solutions Support Microsoft Exchange environments (preferred) Monitor systems for faults, alarms, and outages; isolate root causes and restore service Provide Tier 2 support for escalated issues Perform network troubleshooting and apply security updates aligned with DISA standards Utilize enterprise tools like SCOM, MECM (SCCM), and monitoring systems Plan, install, manage, and administer databases; ensure performance and security Build custom SSRS reports, queries, templates, and integrations Design, write, and modify software programs or application components Create clear, detailed technical documentation Manage user accounts, profiles, and access

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science OR Associate’s degree plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience OR Certification plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience OR Eleven (11) years of recent specialized experience
  • Must hold one (1) of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+ (required), CCNA (preferred)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server 2016/2019+, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS
  • Experience managing physical and virtual server environments, including hardware, operating systems, and enterprise applications
  • Proven ability to perform system upgrades, patching, and performance optimization in a secure environment
  • Experience administering SAN/NAS enterprise storage solutions
  • Strong background in network troubleshooting and applying security hardening standards (DISA STIG compliance)
  • Proficiency with enterprise tools such as SCOM, MECM (SCCM), and other monitoring systems
  • Hands-on experience with database administration, including patching, configuration, and backup/recovery planning
  • Ability to develop custom SSRS reports, queries, and templates
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and managing user accounts and permissions
