About The Position

Markon is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure in a secure, mission-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing Linux and Windows environments, implementing security best practices, and supporting complex server ecosystems.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in configuration management and enterprise systems administration
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated team-based experience supporting: Linux and Windows servers Oracle database servers DNS servers and domain controllers Network storage devices HP servers
  • Experience designing, configuring, and installing enterprise information systems including routers, switches, servers, storage systems, and end-user devices
  • Experience designing and implementing Microsoft Windows-based domains

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting the full DevOps lifecycle, including build pipeline integration, automated deployments, compliance scanning, and test-driven development
  • Experience deploying, provisioning, operating, and maintaining Linux environments (CentOS and Ubuntu)
  • Experience implementing and maintaining systems in compliance with Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Assurance (IA) policies (e.g., ICD 503)
  • Experience implementing development and testing automation tools and IT infrastructure solutions
  • Experience managing virtualized infrastructure environments

Responsibilities

  • Monitor system logs, applications, and infrastructure health on a daily basis; implement automation wherever possible
  • Perform system backups and data archiving in accordance with Sponsor-approved schedules
  • Harden Linux systems following information security engineering principles and industry best practices
  • Maintain and administer enterprise server environments, including: Windows Servers Linux Servers Oracle Database Servers Apache Servers DNS Servers Domain Controllers
  • Apply server patches and operating system updates in accordance with ISSM requirements; automate patching processes when feasible
  • Assist with hardware and software procurement, installation, and implementation
  • Manage software licensing and ensure renewals are completed in a timely manner
  • Obtain required Sponsor waivers as needed
  • Submit Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and Requests for Change (RFCs) through appropriate channels
  • Collaborate closely with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and customer security teams
  • Recommend and implement improvements to system reliability, availability, and maintainability
