About The Position

University Campus Computer Support has an immediate opening for an IT System Administrator. We are seeking a highly motivated upbeat, friendly, and approachable individual to work within a highly customer service-oriented environment. The incumbent would provide AV solution support for clients in house and may require traveling to scheduled off-site University venues. Other support this incumbent would provide are for Windows and MacOS workstations, specialized software, MS Windows servers, printers, network configurations, etc. This position is an onsite position. Customer interaction and support must be provided in a timely professional manner. The incumbent must be a highly skilled IT and AV professional who is knowledgeable in a wide variety of hardware, OS, software, AV, networking and troubleshooting tasks. The incumbent must be detail oriented, adept at following processes, write documentation, be a team player, and work with others to train or be trained on unique systems. This position requires a continued learning effort for supporting new and old software, technology for different client needs and other duties as assigned. This position must be available 24×7, be flexible to work shifted schedules and be on call on a rotation.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Responsibilities

  • AV solutions and systems, configuration, troubleshooting, and setup.
  • Computer build and management for desktop and server installations, updates, patches, upgrades and security.
  • Application management, training and maintenance
  • Computing needs assessment and consultation for hardware and software.
  • Computer imaging or OS installations for both Windows and Macintosh systems, software installations, security management, remote connection management.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and resolve computer issues.
  • Assist with network connectivity and security.
  • Printer support, connectivity and trouble shooting.
  • Active directory connectivity issues, writing group policies and preferences.
  • Tablet and/or smart phone configuration.
  • Writing technical and how-to documentation and maintaining inventory documentation for all systems.
  • File and share rights, permissions, allocation.
  • Virus or malware identification, removal and cleaning.
  • Position is required to be on call to support the designated department.
  • Position requires travel on and off campus using personal vehicle.
  • Expected to be available outside of normal business hours for client needs, or for server or desktop upgrades or updates which need to be completed outside of normal business hours.
