About The Position

The Systems Administrator at JT4, LLC plays a crucial role in supporting the development, testing, and implementation of operating systems and related software. This position involves maintaining and upgrading existing computer systems, providing administrative support for Windows-based servers, and ensuring the compatibility and performance of hardware and software. The role requires problem-solving skills to assist users and manage system security and configurations effectively.

Requirements

  • Associates or higher degree in Information Technology or equivalent academic/technical training.
  • Three years of related experience or a combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise.
  • Basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.
  • Specific experience in the use of MS Windows server environments and various computer-aided design (CAD), database, MS Office, and web-enabled applications.
  • Capability to update or repair computer systems.
  • Planning and organizing skills with the ability to work under deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Valid, state-issued driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA certifications (Security+, Network+, CySA+), Linux certifications, IT certifications.
  • Understanding of security principles for devices and networks and legal implications regarding data integrity.
  • Knowledge of data management, scripting, Python, and SQL management.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud security and ability to learn cloud data infrastructures.

Responsibilities

  • Make upgrades, expand, and maintain existing PC computer systems and provide admin support for a Windows-based server.
  • Provide problem-solving assistance to computer users as required.
  • Evaluate system specifications to ensure hardware/software compatibility and maintain workstations and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems for stable performance.
  • Load technical application software with specific configurations, standard templates, and interfaces.
  • Perform daily operations of MS Windows Server software, including system security, access configuration, and backups.
  • Install the latest drivers and ensure output devices are functioning properly.
  • Organize and secure directory structures per project and organizational requirements and perform data recovery as needed.
  • Maintain web-enabled applications and understand the basics of HTML.
  • Configure hardware such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape drives, and maintain a Computer Authorization and Custodial Receipt Listing (CA/CRL).
  • Administer server deployment of applications and manage incremental licensing.
  • Serve as the point of contact for problem reporting and monitor yearly support contracts.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing customers in electronic access, publishing, viewing, and printing of project files.
