About The Position

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of all IT systems, servers, network equipment, and end-user devices. Operating independently without direct daily supervision, the Systems Administrator must be highly self-motivated, proactive, and committed to maintaining the security, integrity, and performance of the organization's critical systems within the Tribal Gaming environment. This role supports enterprise infrastructure, ensures system resilience, and provides technical assistance to staff, while safeguarding compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and four (4) years of professional experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, desktop support, and network management.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, VMware or Hyper-V virtualization, Microsoft Office applications, and backup technologies.
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and Windows-based networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines without direct supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, thorough work.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all organizational, gaming, and personnel information.
  • Must be able to pass a prescreening test.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Cisco CCNA).
  • BS/BA Degree in Computer Science strongly preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Industry-recognized certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco certifications).
  • Ongoing technical training and professional development encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers, storage arrays (SAN/NAS), network devices (routers, switches, firewalls), and backup systems.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade hardware and software, including servers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and network appliances.
  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, user accounts, email (Microsoft Exchange), DNS, DHCP, file shares, and related infrastructure.
  • Implement and monitor system security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and patch management.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 desktop and application support for enterprise systems and respond to Help Desk escalations in a timely, customer-focused manner.
  • Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, including Cisco network equipment in a high-availability setting.
  • Perform regular system performance checks, preventive maintenance, and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, incidents, resolutions, and changes.
  • Support and maintain Genetec™ SecurityDesk® surveillance system, physical access control systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Administer and troubleshoot card programming systems, fingerprint scanning systems, and other departmental systems.
  • Assist with network design, cabling infrastructure projects, hardware installations, and building pulls.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external vendors to escalate and resolve issues.
  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, and hardware refresh initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Tribal Gaming regulatory standards, cybersecurity best practices, and internal IT policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure data protection across all IT operations.
  • Document all IT tasks using iView™ iTrak® or other designated tracking systems.
  • Participate in after-hours support, on-call rotations, and critical incident responses as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
