About The Position

We are seeking a Systems Administrator with experience in deploying, configuring and maintaining Linux in a large enterprise environment. In this role, the systems administrator will work on a team supporting program initiatives in secure, isolated computing environments. The administrator will be expected to team with peers, internal customers, and management to strengthen the consistency and standardization of IT infrastructure and services achieve operational excellence and program success. While this position is an individual contributor role, collaboration and technical knowledge and skills will be essential attributes. As a Principal Admin you will be expected to lead when necessary in order to see projects and critical tasks complete on set deadlines. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

Requirements

  • Related Bachelor’s and 6or more years of related experience; or HS Diploma and 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Associate’s, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for additional years of experience.
  • Related certifications may count towards years of related experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Documentation skills, organization skills, and the ability to interact with team members cross-functionally.
  • Communication skills.
  • Organization and project management/project coordination skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications meeting DoW 8570 compliance. Current SEC+ or higher highly preferred.
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)/Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • Knowledge of DoW Information Assurance practices and System Accreditation processes including configuring physical and virtual hosts to DISA STIG requirements.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Ansible Playbook and Role creation.
  • Experience supporting Software and Enterprise Application development environments and technologies including CI/CD, Docker, Podman, and Container Technologies and Practices.
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS Linux systems.
  • Experience in Scripting Languages (Python, Ruby, Bash), Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat IdM, Red Hat Ansible Automation, Database Applications, Docker, VMware Virtualization Products, Real Time Kernels, CommVault, JAMA, Task Top, Dev Sec Ops Tools (Atlassian/Jenkins/Azure DevOps),GitLab.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal customers, program security, and management teams in planning for, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting services and systems.
  • Install, maintain, and support multiple Linux-based servers on physical and virtual platforms in support of program initiatives.
  • Expected to engineer, implement, and maintain automation technologies and infrastructure as Code (IaC) services to support hardware, virtual, container based systems.
  • Create Infrastructure as Code processes and solutions using Automation Technologies, ansible plays, playbooks, and roles to provision, deploy, secure, and maintain virtual and physical Linux hosts with commercial and custom software.
  • Automate the installation, patching, and security compliance of Linux-based servers on physical and virtual platforms in support of program initiatives.
  • Execute troubleshooting skills to address stability objectives both reactively and proactively.
  • Maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to backup schedules, patching, virus updates, and regular security scanning and remediation.
  • Lead when necessary in order to achieve project or task deadlines.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
