GovCIO is currently hiring for a Systems Administrator (Network Monitoring) for Air Force Intel System. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position.
Establishes and maintains smooth operation of computer systems (to include operating systems, software and hardware) in networked or stand-alone configurations.
Maintains system integrity, and upgrades systems and/or servers as required.
Creates and documents new methods supporting network/system operations and implements changes to procedures.
Consults with support teams, help desks, customers and other technical staff in the resolution of problems.
Coordinates and performs operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers.
Identifies recurring problems and recommends steps to reduce the severity or frequency of problems.
Plans for the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies.
Utilizes system software to monitor the performance of system files.
Manages system data to maintain performance efficiencies.
Studies system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures.
Maintains and administers computer networks and related computing environments.
Plans, coordinates, and implements network/system security measures.
Provides regular monitoring and analysis regarding short and long-range planning for in-house systems.
Prepares or ensures that appropriate documentation exists, including operational instructions.
Writes or modifies basic scripts to resolve performance problems and automate administration tasks.
Recommends changes to improve systems and network configurations.
Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems.
Works closely with network professionals and IT personnel to update cyber security measures.
Ensures that the organizational systems align with mission goals and objectives.
Supports the implementation, maintenance and operations of Network Monitoring tools (currently SolarWinds).
Analyzes network monitoring system needs for the organization.
Implements and maintains system security in accordance with all directives and mandates.
Assigns and updates role-based access control for network monitoring tools.
Optimizes and evaluates the network monitoring systems continuously.
Performs system upgrades and maintenance on a routine basis.
Conducts break-fix, problem-solving, and restoration actions when necessary.
Attends planning and requirements meetings with IT staff, program managers and customers as required.
Reviews/reset priorities to address the client mission and high priority initiatives.
Builds and maintains relationships with other groups to accomplish client objectives.
Troubleshoots web applications, reviewing logs to diagnose issues.
High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience).
Clearance Required: TS/SCI.
Current CompTIA Security+ and one of the following: MS-700 (Microsoft Certified Teams Administrator), OR LFCS (Linux Foundation Certified System Admin) OR technology specific certifications.
3-5 years configuring and operating SolarWinds or other network monitoring tools.
Experience as a system administrator in a mid to large Windows environment.
Ability to perform daily system health checks.
Experience developing standard operating procedures to perform system functions.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Attention to detail, good communication skills, and good time management skills.
Enterprise level service management experience.
Some networking experience or the ability to understand networking concepts.
