About The Position

Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE). This position is focused on the administration and maintenance of the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN), which supports critical modeling and simulation systems across the defense training enterprise. The Systems Administrator will work as part of a collaborative technical team to resolve issues, maintain system health, and ensure cybersecurity compliance in Windows, RHEL, and virtualized environments. Responsibilities include system troubleshooting, documentation, scripting, and supporting change management activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree in a related field and 1 years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Active Directory administration
  • Experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments
  • Familiarity with VMware or other virtualization platforms
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining administrative scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis, escalate technical issues appropriately, and deliver Tier 2/3 support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documenting procedures and communicating with technical/non-technical stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Red Hat Satellite for RHEL systems
  • Familiarity with Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline (SHB) and DoD STIG implementation
  • Experience with ITSM platforms and enterprise ticketing tools
  • Previous involvement in change control or configuration processes
  • Understanding of cybersecurity practices in DoD or government settings
  • Ability to interpret complex technical issues and support ongoing improvements

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution across client and server systems
  • Administer and maintain Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, including virtual systems
  • Support system configurations in compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Create and update automation scripts to enhance operational efficiency (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
  • Participate in change management and configuration processes
  • Document technical procedures, configurations, and support efforts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support service continuity and improvement
  • Provide Tier 2/3-level support and contribute to team knowledge sharing
