The position requires a highly skilled systems administrator with extensive experience in managing and supporting both Windows and Linux environments. The candidate will be responsible for providing direct support to end users and technical staff, ensuring the security and efficiency of systems operations. The role involves working with various technologies and tools, including VMWare, Active Directory, and network security technologies, while adhering to federal contract requirements.

  • Provide direct support to end users and technical staff.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments (2012R2, 2016, 2019) and Active Directory.
  • Support Linux and Microsoft-based servers and workstations.
  • Implement OS and application hardening according to DISA and best practices.
  • Deploy software/hardware, apply patches, and perform system backups and restores.
  • Utilize tools such as SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, and Nessus.
  • Document and provide information for security accreditation and certification.
  • Understand and apply advanced security protocols and standards.
  • Manage network security technologies and perform vulnerability assessments.
  • Support virtualization environments for both client and server.
  • Lift and handle hardware up to 50 lbs.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and reimage hardware.
  • Optimize system operations and ensure compliance with information security principles.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have TS/SCI clearance with active polygraph (last polygraph must be within the last five years).
  • At least eight to fourteen years of direct/relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience as a systems administrator providing direct support to end users and technical staff.
  • Proficient with Windows Server 2012R2, 2016, 2019, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft-based servers and workstations.
  • Experience with OS and application hardening.
  • Familiarity with SALT, Ansible, Splunk, Puppet, SolarWinds, Nessus.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat 7 and 8, and VMWare.
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat, IIS, and/or SQL server database.
  • Experience documenting security accreditation and certification.
  • Solid understanding of advanced security protocols and standards.
  • Experience with network security technologies.
  • Experience with high assurance platforms and application integration testing methods.
  • Experience with virtualization environments.
  • Ability to support occasional day or short duration travel.
  • Experience with disk arrays, PowerShell, and PowerCLI.
  • Knowledge of PKI systems using HSMs for key validation and NTP for synchronization.
  • Familiarity with software and security architectures.
