As a Systems Administrator Intermediate, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful supporting the mission of US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). You will make meaningful contributions that fuel critical outcomes for some of the most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects. Your responsibilities will include performing software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance levels, ensuring workstation/server data integrity, and supporting media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services. You will also develop and promote standard operating procedures, conduct routine hardware and software audits, and provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.

  • Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
  • Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Support media management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services.
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  • Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices.
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems.
  • Install/load operating system and application software.
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Active Directory (AD) experience.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning experience.
  • In-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems.
  • Ability to provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Security clearance level: TS/SCI.
  • Associate's Degree.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification required prior to support on contract.
  • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent.
  • Must obtain the full AZ104 Microsoft Azure Administrator within 180 days from start date.
