About The Position

The Systems Administrator II position will manage and maintain all servers within the corporate networks (LAN and WAN) in accordance with organization policies and procedures. This position will also ensure proper functioning of the organization's servers and systems, making updates as needed and monitoring systems on a daily basis. The work of this position will be performed within a broad framework of general policy and will require creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish goals and objectives and to apply concepts, plans, and strategies that may deviate from traditional methods and practices. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or high school diploma (or equivalent) with the direct equivalent years of experience above the minimum
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with operating systems and application software, personal computers, local area networks, servers, laptops, printers, network cabling, small tools, and standard office equipment
  • Knowledge of Information system technologies
  • Knowledge of Network and computer security practices
  • Experience with VMware, Citrix, Microsoft Exchange, Windows, and third party software patching
  • Ability to apply principles of budget preparation, budget estimation, and tracking
  • Knowledge of hazards and generally accepted safety standards
  • Ability to learn and use new systems, processes, policies, and procedures effectively and efficiently
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and desktop publishing techniques
  • Ability to analyze, install, and maintain networking equipment
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Work flexible hours, which may include evenings and/or weekends

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify, and isolate technical issues
  • Configure, install, administer, and maintain the organization's Windows servers
  • Troubleshoot server, system, and application problems
  • Upgrade hardware and systems as needed
  • Maintain and monitor various systems
  • Monitor and manage systems capacity
  • Coordinate integration of new systems and applications into existing systems
  • Make proper recommendations for the purchase of new technologies to Team Lead
  • Coordinate and participate with other organizational departments and agencies on technology projects as required
  • Participate in after hours support if needed
  • Partner with external vendors, consultants, and carriers as required for troubleshooting and/or initiatives
  • Administer Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Citrix, and SAN environments
  • Administer Virtual Server environment
  • Administer Corporate Backup procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
