About The Position

Our team is responsible for providing 245 Support to IT Applications built on the latest tech stack and consumed by internal business functions to support Akamai customers. We collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units to deliver application support and services. Partner with the best In this role, you'll manage the secure, compliant, and efficient operation of Microsoft 365 (M365) services for government agencies. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, in-depth security and compliance knowledge, and exceptional problem-solving skills to maintain a secure cloud environment in adherence to stringent government regulations. As a Systems Administrator II, you will be responsible for:

Requirements

  • Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent
  • Have knowledge of core M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Possess experience with Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), including hybrid environments, user provisioning, and conditional access policies.
  • Possess experience in PowerShell for automating administrative tasks.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Purview, Defender, and Information Protection, with an understanding of data governance and government compliance standards.
  • Have experience with GCC or GCC High tenants is often required, due to their specific security and compliance needs.

Responsibilities

  • Performing advanced administration of the M365 tenant and its core services, including user and license management, security policies, and application access.
  • Managing security settings and compliance features using Microsoft 365 security and compliance centers to ensure adherence to government standards
  • Developing and implement PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive operational tasks, including user onboarding/offboarding, reporting, and standardized configurations.
  • Serving as a technical resource, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, and performing root cause analysis for recurring problems.
  • Monitoring service health, manage and deploy updates, and optimize the M365 environment for performance and availability.
  • Creating and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials for end-users and IT staff.
  • Working collaboratively with security, development, and end-user teams to implement new features, integrate M365 with other systems, and provide technical guidance.
