About The Position

North Point Technology is hiring a Linux Administrator SME to support mission-critical environments across our Centralized SuperComputing Facility (CSCF) and other high-impact programs. This role is ideal for a senior Linux expert who can troubleshoot deep system issues, automate administration at scale, and strengthen secure, reliable platform operations across complex environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AIS, or related field
10+ years of relevant professional experience
At least 5 years of experience developing or supporting system software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments
Strong scripting skills in Bourne/Bash and Expect
Experience debugging Linux kernel issues using source code analysis, system logs, crash, systemtap, or similar tools
Experience managing Satellite repositories for patching and custom kernel builds
Experience automating system configuration and maintenance with Ansible and Satellite Server
Understanding of identity management systems, including LDAP and token-based authentication
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in complex technical environments
active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph

Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and harden Linux systems supporting HPC and other mission-focused programs in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments.
Troubleshoot complex operating system and kernel-level issues using source code analysis, system logs, and low-level diagnostic tools.
Manage patching and system lifecycle activities, including repository administration and custom kernel builds to support new functionality and security requirements.
Automate system configuration, maintenance, and patch management using enterprise tools and repeatable workflows.
Support and integrate identity and access management services, including directory services and token-based authentication.
Partner with support teams to improve system stability, security, and operational efficiency across critical Linux environments.
