About The Position

North Point Technology is hiring a Linux Administrator SME to support mission-critical environments across our Centralized SuperComputing Facility (CSCF) and other high-impact programs. This role is ideal for a senior Linux expert who can troubleshoot deep system issues, automate administration at scale, and strengthen secure, reliable platform operations across complex environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AIS, or related field
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience
  • At least 5 years of experience developing or supporting system software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments
  • Strong scripting skills in Bourne/Bash and Expect
  • Experience debugging Linux kernel issues using source code analysis, system logs, crash, systemtap, or similar tools
  • Experience managing Satellite repositories for patching and custom kernel builds
  • Experience automating system configuration and maintenance with Ansible and Satellite Server
  • Understanding of identity management systems, including LDAP and token-based authentication
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in complex technical environments
  • active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and harden Linux systems supporting HPC and other mission-focused programs in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex operating system and kernel-level issues using source code analysis, system logs, and low-level diagnostic tools.
  • Manage patching and system lifecycle activities, including repository administration and custom kernel builds to support new functionality and security requirements.
  • Automate system configuration, maintenance, and patch management using enterprise tools and repeatable workflows.
  • Support and integrate identity and access management services, including directory services and token-based authentication.
  • Partner with support teams to improve system stability, security, and operational efficiency across critical Linux environments.
