Systems Admin-Intermediate performs installation, configuration, monitoring, testing, and maintenance of operating system work stations and servers, ensuring operating systems work together, support end-user business requirements, and function properly. Evaluates the capabilities and limitations of new and existing technical tools and systems. Education and Experience: Degree (Associate's Or Bachelor's) and three (3) years experience managing applications or servers in an IT environment.

  • Maintains integrity of the of the operating system environment by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Monitors and performs workstation and server administration setup, testing, maintenance and support.
  • Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes as required.
  • Schedules data backup and recovery operations.
  • Initiates shutdown and reboot of servers as required for system maintenance and emergency response action.
  • Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Recommends and integrates hardware and system software upgrades to optimize system performance.
  • Confers with users and performs semi-complex to complex problem diagnosis and problem resolution related to systems operating environment.
  • Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Monitors and maintains continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements.
