The Systems Administrator - Datacenter Infrastructure at Georgia Ports Authority is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of Windows and UNIX-based systems, virtualized environments, storage solutions, and backup/recovery processes. This role involves installing infrastructure hardware and software, providing system support, and participating in research and development to continuously improve IT business needs. The position requires collaboration with user areas to ensure a stable IT environment and actively resolve issues to minimize disruptions.

  • Install, maintain, configure, and administer datacenter infrastructure environments.
  • Monitor and evaluate infrastructure system performance to meet business needs.
  • Maintain Windows, IBM AIX, and RedHat Linux environments for stability and performance.
  • Manage and optimize enterprise-level storage devices for stability and performance.
  • Maintain enterprise-level system backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure DR datacenter system functionality and reliability.
  • Create, maintain, and update system documentation and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system problems.
  • Analyze information system activity to discover and prevent systematic errors.
  • 1-3 years of experience in system administration or IT support.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, IBM AIX, RedHat Linux, and Openshift operating systems.
  • Experience with Oracle middleware administration.
  • Knowledge of VMWare virtual infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level storage technologies and backup/recovery solutions.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Knowledge of SFTP, NFS, and SMB.
  • Experience in systems engineering and managing systems infrastructure in a professional environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • Competitive salary range of $67.4K - $85.3K per year.
