About The Position

SCCI is currently seeking a System Tester to join our team in support of the Battle Management System (BMS) family of projects. In this position, you will work collaboratively with multiple technical teams including virtual and augmented reality product developers and engineers to plan, execute, and report results of the test and evaluation of team products. The execution framework of the BMS team is a Rapid Development Process and this position has a high focus on software testing. You will be tasked with system testing with the goal of ensuring the products are comprehensively validated before delivery. Testing will be conducted both in the labs and in the field. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA. Travel is required at a projected frequency of 1 or more trips per quarter.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application or a military training background can be considered in lieu of degree
  • Three (3) years of professional experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation, and system performance testing
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams throughout the system engineering and software development cycles for the development of a testing strategy
  • Experience documenting and communicating complex systems, operations, or procedures
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, and military personnel in developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements
  • Ability and willingness to travel in support of remote system events
  • Experience working with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS and ticketing tools such as Atlassian Jira
  • Ability to pass an FAA class 3 medical exam
  • Ability to pass Hypobaric Chamber training
  • Ability to support CONUS and OCONUS travel events (surges of up to 75% month)
  • Ability to walk flight line up to 200 meters while carrying heavy equipment to get the platform
  • Ability to Lift up to 80lbs in awkward angles/positions
  • Able to work extended hours during travel (up to 16 hours/day)

  • Experience with virtual and augmented reality product testing including familiarity with AR/VR headsets and controllers
  • Experience working with Linux and UNIX environments
  • Experience with scripting automated testing
  • Knowledge of Test and Evaluation best practices and rapid development processes
  • Knowledge of Weapon Control Systems

Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with hardware and software engineers to support the development of comprehensive project test plans and strategies
  • Developing and documenting methodologies for product functionality and integration verification
  • Executing evaluations of weapon control systems during development and prior to formal release both in the laboratory and in the field
  • Working collaboratively with engineers and developers on issues found during testing and fielded use
  • Documenting findings and delivering the results through reports and tickets
  • Engaging in collaboration with the BMS team through regularly scheduled meetings
