About The Position

The System Test Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the testing of all products and systems created by GSSI while also providing day-to-day management for all members of the system test group. This job requires interacting productively with the entire engineering team to support all phases of the product life cycle, including new product development, new product introduction, and Sustaining Engineering. Requires a thorough knowledge of all GSSI products such that they can comprehensively exercise all products efficiently and ensure that products meet design goals, manufacturing requirements, and customer expectations. This is a full‐time exempt position based out of GSSI's Nashua, NH office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent in experience
  • 7+ years of experience in all phases of the project development life cycle
  • Experience with source control, building and tracking tools such as GIT, TFS, JIRA, etc.
  • Familiarity with performance testing, system profiling, and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of software testing standards and methods
  • Experience testing embedded systems and user interfaces.
  • Creative, resourceful, and innovative problem solver
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop members of the system test group
  • Own the overall test and verification strategy for new products, new features, bug fixes, and customer requests
  • Define and continuously improve QA processes, methodologies, tooling, quality gates, and release criteria to ensure product readiness
  • Ensure test coverage aligns with product risk, customer impact, and business priorities
  • Provide oversight for the development, execution, and maintenance of test plans for all products
  • Collaborate with engineering to define test strategies and plans for all relevant subsystems during development
  • Develop realistic test estimates to support product roadmaps and delivery commitments
  • Lead the development and adoption of automated testing strategies, including custom automation frameworks, test utilities, and system test stands
  • Ensure QA practices align with source control, continuous integration, unit testing, and build infrastructure best practices
  • Partner with IT and engineering to support build systems and creation of product installation images
  • Act as a key stakeholder in release decisions by communicating quality status and risk
  • Support customer support teams by assisting with complex or escalated technical quality issues
  • Use Jira Agile tools to plan, track, and manage testing activities, including test execution, defect tracking, and release reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely updates of test status, defects, and quality metrics within Jira to support cross-functional transparency and agile delivery
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering using Jira workflows, dashboards, and reports to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making
