About The Position

Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) National Team (NT) at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies. The Work The System Test Team is responsible for planning and analyzing every MDS ground and flight test in which the C2BMC program participates. Ground‑test activities span pairwise testing, Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI), Integrated Ground Test (GTI), Distributed Ground Test (GTD), cyber tests, Space Domain Awareness (SDA) exercises, and pre‑flight hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HWIL) efforts. Flight tests are executed with predetermined sensors and shooters, while international events combine a variety of ground and flight tests. The System Test Engineer leads the planning of all assigned test events, focusing on the development and implementation of required test artifacts such as test objectives, architectures, Data Item Descriptions, defense designs, Sensor Resource Management (SRM) settings, operational tasking data link (OPTASKLINK) and Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI) configurations, forwarding tables, CDS, TDACS, TRAUT TDACS, communications connectivity matrices, Event Configuration Baselines (ECB), system‑adjustable and site‑specific parameters, BDR/PR applicability, and certification data packages. Additional responsibilities include supporting planning‑phase reviews, customer boards, data management, developer interfaces, government personnel during execution, anomaly resolution, analysis groups, and Failure Review Boards (FRBs). Please Note: This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. This position is located at Schriever, Space Force Base 10 miles east of Colorado Springs, CO and is 100% onsite. This position may require infrequent OCONUS travel. Requirements

  • Active Final SECRET clearance required prior to starting
  • Proficiency in developing test artifacts (test objectives, system architectures, Data Item Descriptions, defense designs, and certification data packages, etc.)
  • Proven capability to analyze test data, troubleshoot anomalies, and develop thorough imaginative solutions to difficult technical problems.
  • Ability to interface effectively with developers, government personnel, and cross‑functional analysis groups throughout test execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS) including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks
  • Prior integration and test experience within the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program
