The Government Services and Solutions team is a Viasat business focused on delivering high quality End to End communications solutions to Government customers who operate across all domains, including airborne, land, and maritime operations. In many cases these customers require assured communications which include resilient features, integrated security, and the ability to dynamically switch between many communications options. The engineering required to meet these requirements must be rigorous, thoughtful, user focused, and high quality. You will join a System Test team that is responsible for assured network performance and reliability for Government users. This includes test and validation of new features, satellite hardware hands on experience, test case development and execution, and more. You will work closely with other test engineers as well as Systems, Software, and Hardware engineers to ensure that high quality standards are met for both functionality and performance of these communications systems. The day-to-day This intern will be a valuable member of the team as they work on latest satellite terminal releases. This is essential work on bugs which significantly impact customer experience, especially Government customer. Internship Program Details: You will work onsite at a Viasat office location for the duration of your internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams. Housing and relocation assistance are available to interns pending eligibility. To ensure equity across our intern population, intern compensation is pre-determined based on a variety of factors including: role, location, and final graduation date. Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2026 and August 2027
  • Internship Dates: You must be available to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship program as outlined in the cohort dates below. Limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars: Cohort 1: May 18, 2026 – August 14, 2026 Cohort 2: June 22, 2026 – September 18, 2026
  • Citizenship: This position requires U.S. citizenship
  • Additional: Course work, experience, or knowledge of Communication theory, Signals and Systems, and Computer Data Networks
  • Basic experience with navigating and working with Linux shell
  • Basic experience with Python and/or MATLAB
