The group's main business is the implementation of mission critical digital mobile communication systems for Government & Public Safety Communications customers. Responsibilities include the optimization and dedicated support of complex mission critical communication systems onsite in Sarasota, FL and Manatee, FL. Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25 and data infrastructure. Program, configure, optimize, test and document complex communications systems. Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments. Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system implementation, upgrades or support issues Experience with backhaul networks including technologies in Microwave, Fiber, and MPLS routing. Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques Team with Engineering, Project Management and Sales personnel to effectively design, implement, optimize and cutover advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations Provide extensive knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks Deliver expert knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques Deliver knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must have an understanding of computer network installation, configuration and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and bridges.

Requirements

  • The System Technologist MUST reside near Sarasota or Manatee, FL area to be available for 24/7 rotation of support 365 days of the year.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
  • Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by customers.
  • Prior felony convictions, including some felony arrests, depending on the disposition will eliminate the candidate from passing the necessary and required background checks.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Capable of installation of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Google Suite
  • Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision
  • Able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations
  • This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
  • High School Diploma/GED OR 1+ years experience in one of the following: IP Networking, Network Engineering, Networking Equipment, Solution Architecture, ASTRO 25, WAVE VOIP, LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT, Motorola, or Military experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
  • Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)
