Missiles and Fire Control is seeking new graduates for System Safety Engineering positions in Orlando, FL! The System Safety Engineer (SSE) Associate (Asc) is responsible for ensuring that the products developed at LMMFC and sold to the customer are safe for the warfighter to use. A successful candidate will employ safety analysis techniques which will be performed on the end item and its subsystems. The primary job responsibility will be that of performing hazard analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and contractual requirements. The SSE Asc analyzes and recommends safety features and controls for system design, software, training and procedures to mitigate or eliminate hazards. The SSE Asc also performs and supports the development of safety documentation to satisfy customer and contractual requirements. The candidate works with systems and software engineering on architecture definition, use cases and generates software safety analyses in accordance with government guidelines. A successful candidate will spend a majority of the time working in a team environment, with direction and guidance provided by a senior team member. Additional job duties may include the following: Support the program by developing hazard analyses, software safety assessments, hazardous material management planning and execution. Help prepare presentation material and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for technical reviews and customer briefings. Flow down system safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation. Assist in requirements development and verification. Review specifications, technical documentation, and design changes for impacts to system safety. Support customer and test/operational range requirements Participate in the development of testing activities to ensure safety requirements are satisfied. Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in identification of causes and corrective actions.
