The selected candidate will support System Safety Engineering efforts for Air Mobility and Maritime Missions and Advanced Development Programs aircraft. This role involves developing and executing System Safety Program Plans, performing hazard identification, evaluation, and control analyses using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The position requires extensive collaboration with design teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure safety standards are met throughout the aircraft design and sustainment processes.

  • Support System Safety Program Plan development and execution.
  • Perform analyses for hazard identification, evaluation, and control.
  • Conduct Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), and Software Hazard Analysis (SwHA).
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative hazard analyses to conduct risk assessments and trade studies.
  • Interface and coordinate system safety activities with design teams, suppliers, internal management, and external customers.
  • Collaborate with adjacent disciplines to support program objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with cross-functional communication.
  • Experience with System Safety analyses, standards, and tools.
  • Experience leading projects and teams.
  • Military or civilian flight experience.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, ARP-4761, and/or ARP-4754.
  • Knowledge of FAA and military regulations and processes.
  • Previous experience writing technical reports on complex subject matter.
  • Experience with military or government programs.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods.
  • Model-based system engineering (MBSE) training or experience.
  • Experience working with international customers and suppliers.
  • Government contract execution experience.
  • Full life-cycle experience with system safety analyses, standards, and tools.
