About The Position

The Systems Safety Engineer will support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program at Auria. This role involves defining the architecture necessary for the desired capabilities of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and communicating these capabilities to a diverse group of stakeholders. The engineer will be integral to the team, focusing on system safety engineering and ensuring high-quality deliverables within the project timelines.

Requirements

  • 9 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field; or 7 years of experience with a master's degree in the same fields.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Thorough understanding of system safety engineering practices.
  • Experience in identifying and defining desired capabilities.
  • Ability to model interrelationships between internal and external system components.
  • Strong communication skills to convey desired capabilities to various stakeholders.
  • Experience in generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Define the physical, functional, and technical architecture for the C2BMC program.
  • Generate responsibility sections of capability specifications and train less experienced personnel.
  • Review technical product content and act as a technical interface to MDA counterparts.
  • Develop program safety plans and apply safety policies and guidance.
  • Support MDA and other program personnel with systems engineering tasks as needed.
  • Ensure timely generation of high-quality products within available resources.
  • Conduct independent safety analyses, including preliminary hazard analysis and subsystem hazard analysis.
  • Support the integration and testing process, ensuring safety-critical tasks stay on schedule.
