As a Software Engineering Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh PA, Strongsville OH, Birmingham AL, Phoenix AZ, Dallas TX or Denver CO. PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. Job Description Manages development projects, development teams and application support functions. Oversees multiple application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of application programs. Monitors and maintains adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis. Maximizes staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs. Analyzes applications to ensure that all systems that are developed, meet business needs and specifications. Responsibilities

  • Relationship Management & Collaboration: Nurturing partnerships rather than treating relationships as merely transactional, fostering trust for better collaboration.
  • Negotiation & Problem-Solving: Addressing vendor performance issues constructively, resolving conflicts, and finding win-win solutions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Acting as the liaison between the external vendor and internal teams (IT, Legal, Procurement, Finance) to align needs.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly conveying expectations and technical requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Performance Monitoring (KPIs/SLAs): Establishing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure vendor performance, such as uptime, support response times, and quality standards.
  • Integration & Architecture Knowledge: Assessing how vendor technology integrates with existing systems to avoid technical debt.
  • Third-Party Risk Assessment: Identifying security, operational, and financial risks associated with vendors.
  • Security & Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring vendors comply with regulatory requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.) and managing data protection.
