About The Position

This position is responsible for performing analytical and technical work; and will be required to respond to DOH work requests and liaison activities between DOH, the primary data centers and cloud providers. Process Data Center Work Requests (DCWR). Submit tickets to the Northwest Regional Datacenters (NWRDC) for operation changes to services and equipment managed by the NWRDC and monitor work to completion. Create cost breakdowns for new builds and system upgrade changes and process with budget approval. Process firewall service request via approval flow. Work with NWRDC and DOH technical resources to restore normal service operation as quickly as possible and minimize the adverse effect on business operations within service-level agreement (SLA) limits. Attend Change Control meetings and coordinate efforts required by team members required by the Change Control board. Configuration Process Owner, review and monitor Configuration Management Database (CMDB) as changes occur to maintain accuracy. Modify and update change records based upon changes to the environment. Work through the NWRDC portal to manage agency accounts, monitor SDC CMDB to verify accuracy for Agency resources. Work in various cloud portals utilized by DOH to track provisioning, manage cost tagging, and track cost utilization across all DOH accounts. This would include making changes to existing environments to add new resources, rightsized existing resources and remove resources that are no longer being used. Other duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Knowledge of monitoring processes and/or working with ticketing software
  • Knowledge of server terminologies including compute, storage and databases
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures and government rules & regulations
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • Communicating effectively with others verbally and in writing

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in an Information Technology related field (application development, system administration, networking). Use of productivity applications does not count towards IT experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.
