PSE's Electric Operations team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open System Operator Trainee position! Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.Job DescriptionThis job is considered “safety sensitive” as defined in RCW 49.44.240 and is subject to pre-employment drug screening that includes screening for the presence of marijuana and marijuana metabolites. Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for operating the Company's Electrical System on rotating shifts. Issue clearances and switching orders to qualified field personnel for all distribution lines and equipment 34kV and below, transmission lines as directed by the Senior Power Dispatcher and SCADA switching in compliance with established Company Standard Practices and Procedures. Perform duties within the assigned Standard Operating Practices (SOP) for System Operations. Must be knowledgeable and comply with all Company standards, policies, practices and procedures and State and Federal safety regulations as they pertain to the job. Perform similar and incidental duties as assigned. The System Operator Trainee will be required to perform all of the above duties under the direct supervision of the System Operator and/or System Operator Training Committee (SOTC) until they successfully pass the Level I exam.

Requirements

  • Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have a basic understanding of electrical distribution and transmission.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with Company personnel, Service Providers, Contractors and the public.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license.

Responsibilities
