In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program. BAE Systems is seeking a Summer 2026 System Modeling Engineer Intern with a Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering background. Join our Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) System Modeling Team and become a member of a diverse, enthusiastic, and highly productive team, where each employee has the opportunity to grow their skills and work on challenging projects applying SysML / Cameo to the US/UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System and US Attack Weapon System programs. The selected candidate will work closely with numerous engineering teams: Performing system modeling / simulation efforts and related MBSE tasking (e.g., technical whitepapers, presentations, stakeholder demos, etc.), and Contributing to community Integrated Product Teams / Working Groups / Communities of Practice.

  • Perform system modeling / simulation efforts and related MBSE tasking.
  • Contribute to community Integrated Product Teams / Working Groups / Communities of Practice.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another engineering-related major.
  • SysML experience.
  • Experience with broad array of engineering tools / languages including No Magic Products, PTC Windchill, IBM DOORS, 2D/3D CAD, SysML, JAVA, and/or MATLAB Simulink.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another engineering-related major.
