About The Position

The System Infection Prevention Manager is responsible for oversight and maintenance of all Infection Prevention-related software programs and modules. Provides leadership, training and support to Infection Preventionists across the system. Coordinates the review and revision of Infection Prevention policies and procedures consistent with current regulatory requirements and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Infection Prevention required.
  • BSN
  • RN, Certification in Infection Control (CIC), Driver's License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Infection Prevention data mining system.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgement is a professional area.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow.
  • Skill and proficiency in apply highly technical principles, concepts and techniques to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Proficiency in all aspects of Infection Prevention data mining systems required

Responsibilities

  • Designs, delivers and coordinates education for Infection Preventionists regarding access, functionality and reporting on all required software platforms.
  • Participates in quality and process improvement initiatives addressing infection prevention issues at both the entity and system level.
  • Trains, supports and mentors system Infection Preventionists.
  • Travels to Baptist facilities for survey readiness, TJC and DNV surveys, and infection prevention program assessments.
  • Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with multi-disciplinary teams. Leads and/or actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings.
  • Demonstrates skill in applying evidence-based practice guidelines and regulatory standards (CMS, TJC, DNV-GL, OSHA, etc.) when: assessing the environment; observing patient care activities and processes and developing/revising policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and leader regarding infection prevention issues. Develops and revises policies and procedures that are consistent with system guidelines, evidence-based guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrates initiative in professional development and continuing education. Attends professional meetings and educational offerings.
  • Analyzes and prepares Infection Prevention data. Presents and discusses pertinent data at various committee meetings.
  • Prepares and presents educational workshops, lectures, discussions or one-to-one instruction on infection prevention topics. Provides community education on Infection Prevention topics.
  • Understands, applies and supports departmental/entity/system policies, guidelines, procedures and standards.
  • Exhibits efficiency, competency and professionalism that promotes a positive work environment.
