About The Position

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Systems Interoperability and Integration Engineer SME supporting a high priority acquisition mission within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC). The Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNC) is a one-of-a-kind Air Force activity operating from Lackland AFB which provides life cycle management for IA and other critical systems. The division’s primary mission is cyberspace support. AFLCMC/HNC is responsible for technology development, acquisition, sustainment, and demilitarization of cyber security systems or products that provide mission assurance by ensuring warfighter access to the information systems and its products, while denying adversaries access to the same. The division also provides product support to other critical Air Force, DoD, and national force protection and intelligence systems required by the nation to mobilize, deploy, support, and sustain operations. This is a full time position located at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX.

Requirements

  • Secret clearance (with ability to obtain TS/SCI)
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Five of which must be in the DoD

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs by assisting government leadership with decision-making, planning, and execution throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
  • Apply technical and/or professional expertise to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, contribute to mission success, and help deliver critical capabilities to the warfighter.
  • Lead the design, architecture, and technical evolution of the Party Bus PaaS.
  • Architect high availability and scalable AWS-based platform services, ensuring resiliency and fault tolerance across environments.
  • Define platform patterns that support multi-tenant isolation, operational stability, and mission onboarding at scale.
  • Translate product requirements into system architectures that balance reliability, security, and developer experience.
  • Serve as a technical authority for GitOps-based platform management, leveraging tools such as GitLab and ArgoCD.
  • Design and oversee GitOps workflows that manage Kubernetes clusters, platform services, and tenant configurations.
  • Ensure platform changes are traceable, auditable, and reproducible through declarative configuration and version control.
  • Architect and guide GitLab CI pipelines supporting platform services and tenant workloads.
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines integrate testing, security scanning, and policy enforcement aligned with DevSecOps best practices.
  • Support scalable pipeline patterns suitable for enterprise and multi-tenant use.
  • Provide senior technical leadership for Kubernetes-based platform environments.
  • Ensure Kubernetes clusters are designed and operated for reliability, security, and lifecycle management.
  • Guide cluster upgrades, capacity planning, and operational monitoring.
  • Architect and oversee AWS infrastructure supporting Party Bus, including networking, compute, identity, and security services.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform experience preferred, to provision and manage cloud resources.
  • Ensure infrastructure configurations remain aligned with approved security baselines and the system ATO.
  • Advise the Government Product Manager on platform capabilities, architectural decisions, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Evaluate proposed platform changes for operational impact, security posture, and scalability.
  • Verify cloud and platform resources remain compliant with the system’s Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Support the operation of enterprise-grade shared services, including monitoring, logging, identity integration, and access control.
  • Collaborate with security, networking, and platform stakeholders to ensure operational readiness and continuity.
  • Contribute to platform governance, standards, and best practices across mission tenants.
