About The Position

Western Digital System Integration Test (SIT) Lab is seeking a Technician to assist the Power Engineering team during test and characterization activities. Western Digital’s SIT Lab performs storage, subsystem, and device-level testing on Western Digital's entire enterprise product line.

Requirements

• Diploma or higher in an engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• 1-3+ years of relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of computers, networks, and storage.
• Ability to manage execution of test efforts with minimal supervision.
• Organize, bring up and maintain lab systems.
• Assist engineers with interpreting test results, first level debug, and status reporting.
• Maintain and track drive inventory, system inventory, tools, etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor system issues and handle preventative maintenance.
• Ability to maintain supporting infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of office tools - Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Nice To Haves

• Linux command line abilities and navigation.
• Ability to modify and write simple test scripts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with executing Power tests for enterprise HDD drive programs.
• Interpret test results.
• Assist with first-level FA.
• Status reporting.
• Maintenance and organization of the Power team's systems.
• Run automated test suites.
