About The Position

We are seeking a System Health Engineer III/Senior to join our asset management and maintenance support organization. This team is dedicated to applying maintenance best practices, leveraging asset analytics, and evaluating operational outcomes to maximize the useful life of critical equipment—both inside and outside the substation fence. In this role, you’ll combine your technical expertise and analytical mindset to evaluate equipment health, identify performance issues, and develop strategies that enhance reliability and longevity. You’ll collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to make data-driven recommendations that optimize asset performance across our power system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline.
  • Five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions for Level III.
  • Eight (8) years working experience in Engineering-related positions for Senior.
  • Approved Engineer degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and testing strategies in transmission and distribution equipment.
  • Familiarity with strategic asset management.
  • Problem analysis/resolution techniques.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Professional Engineer licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares engineering plans, designs, analysis, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies, technical reviews, investigations and verifications.
  • Interfaces with customers and other departments to ensure project objectives are understood and that work scope meets customer requirements, budget and schedule.
  • Enhances department performance and productivity by formulating, coordinating, performing analysis and making recommendations for improvements.
  • May provide oversight of engineering technical programs by managing the program requirements.
  • May assume responsibility for small- to medium-scale projects which include planning, designing, scheduling and coordinating all facets of the project.
  • Provides technical guidance and leadership to less experienced engineers.
  • May participate in developing long-range strategies for significant site problems.
  • Provides input to projects and recommends modifications to increase operating efficiency.
  • Remains cognizant of current technology and engineering developments as well as industry and competitive developments.
  • Creation of asset management and business case documentation in order to justify maintenance strategies for new and existing asset classes.
