About The Position

The System Engineer will help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. This individual will be a part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, traveling to stores and offices of customers to install, troubleshoot, service, and repair machines and other equipment. This individual will manage and monitor all systems and infrastructure while installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools. The System Engineer will analyze the site and consult with users on site to determine system requirements. This individual will work independently and make decisions in the field regarding the implementation of the systems based on user requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (required)
  • Familiarity with power and hand tools (required)
  • Basic computer skills (required)
  • Dress professionally and appropriately (required)
  • Excellent oral and written communication (required)
  • Ability to think, learn, and solve, problems quickly (required)
  • Must be able to work independently and with limited supervision (required)
  • Capable of multitasking (required)
  • Exceptional organization skills (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Experience in general retail, grocery, and/or foodservice industries (preferred)
  • Familiarity with networking (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Staging duties to include system configuration testing and troubleshooting with customers and developers to implement those fixes
  • Analyze site and system requirements and consult with on site users to determine install implementation plan.
  • Modify the system as needed to meet customer expectations
  • Test and validate equipment connections and functionality to ensure proper installation
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of the installation and set-up process
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms/reports and expense logs
  • Maintain close interaction with warehouse staff to verify equipment for upcoming installs
  • Travel to the home office for continued training, as well as specialized product training
  • Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements
  • Maintain customer confidence by keeping service information confidential
  • Provide service, support, installation, and training to customers, if necessary
  • Make independent decisions on site pertaining to system implementation
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, nights, and early mornings
