The Lifecycle Systems Engineering (LSE) will implement Systems and Requirements Engineering principles for Y-12 site activities including production processes, infrastructure projects, and programmatic support to NSE and NNSA programs as follows: Serve as the Systems Engineering technical authority, implementing life cycle systems engineering practices as per ISO-15288, ISO-29148, DOE 413.3-1, and INCOSE for their assigned systems, structures, and projects. Support all phases of systems engineering as required by the project/program from concept, planning, design, execution, integration, testing, and into operations with lifecycle support. Lead and be a member of cross functional teams (CFT) with the fundamental role of implementing a Requirements Engineering Management structure as the CFT plans, executes, and verifies turnover readiness. Facilitate the creation and approval of systems and requirements management deliverables such as Functional & Operational Requirement Documents, System Requirement Documents, Project Scoping Documents, Analysis of Alternatives, Operational Concepts and various others. Use a requirement management software suite to trace and manage requirements, provide requirements gap analyses at critical project milestones or stage gates, and confirm closure of requirement verifications at project completion. Provide Digital Engineering solutions using software tools when applicable, based upon project size and complexity: Vitec Genesys and Cameo Model Based Systems Engineering, IBM DOORS (Classic and Next Generation), Flex SIM, Extend Sim modeling & simulation tools, Model Center.   • Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science [Chemistry, Physics, or related] from an Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET. OR MS in Engineering /Physical science. OR PhD in Engineering /Physical science.
  • There is a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement up to 4 years post-graduation at time of offer and confirmed by transcript. Beyond four years from graduation, engineering experience will supersede GPA as a requirement for hire.
  • 3.0/4.0 minimum cumulative GPA for Bachelor degree
  • 3.3 minimum cumulative GPA for Master degree
  • 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA for PhD
