In this position... - A System Engineering Team (SET) engineer acts as single point of contact between Functional Engineering and the program team, ensuring and coordinating functional support and assisting functional teams in any way possible to remove roadblocks and get the job done. What you'll do... SET 5 and SET 6 consists of the following systems of the vehicle: wheels/tires, brakes, suspension, steering, axle, driveshafts, fuel, exhaust. A SET 5/6 engineer will: Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior Systems & Structures, IPSE, EE Hardware and Underbody Systems, etc.) to support program milestones Drive cross-functional issue resolution (program, finance, quality, attribute, manufacturing, STA, suppliers, etc.) to support program milestones Drive system design efficiency, finding solutions to reduce complexity, vehicle cost and/or vehicle weight Manage system cost status with D&R / finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes, ensuring efficient vehicle solution is being brought forward to program Report in a weekly basis program status and progress to leadership team Lead escalation of issues when needed Lead resolution of PD launch issues via AIMS, CRs, FCPA, Alerts, & other launch performance metrics for on time delivery of launch. Provide issue resolution updates to the Integration and Program teams Ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program. What you'll do...
