About The Position

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a full-time System Engineer Support Principal for Hanscom AFB. This role requires experience with Field-Programmable Gate Array) as well as an engineering degree. These engineers design, develop, and test reconfigurable digital circuits using Hardware Description Languages (HDLs) like VHDL or Verilog, often in high performance, low-latency applications in sectors like aerospace, finance, and telecommunications. They work closely with hardware, performing simulations, debugging and system integration. An FPGA Engineer designs, develops, and tests digital systems using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), requiring strong skills in digital logic, programming and collaboration with other engineers. Responsibilities Include: The individual shall be able to: Design and Development : Create and implement complex digital systems using FPGAs, ensuring they meet project specifications and performance requirements. Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of FPGA designs to ensure functionality and reliability. Collaboration: Work closely with hardware designers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate FPGA solutions into larger systems. Debugging and Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues in FPGA designs, optimizing performance and efficiency. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of design processes, test results and system specifications. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering degree and 12 years of experience in FPGA design and development, of which 5 years must be in the DoD
  • BA/BS degree and 15 years of experience in Electrical Engineering and experience in FPGA design and development, of which 5 years must be in the DoD
  • Strong knowledge of digital logic design, hardware description languages (HDLS) such as VHDL, or Verilog, and FPGA development tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to tackle complex design challenges
