About The Position

The System Engineer (Mid) will play a crucial role in the Data and Applications Team, responsible for developing, operating, maintaining, and enhancing a suite of cybersecurity tools deployed across secure enclaves. This position focuses on ensuring effective and timely responses to cybersecurity events by integrating data from centralized and local system sources. The System Engineer will contribute to the creation of new applications, algorithms, and automation processes to optimize workflows and improve data analysis. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with team members to integrate security requirements into technical solutions and conducting ongoing research to incorporate emerging technologies, thereby enhancing the organization’s overall cybersecurity posture.

Requirements

• Experience with Linux-based environment administration.
• Proven experience in testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and administering infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity.
• Strong background in developing, creating, modifying, and maintaining computer applications and specialized utility programs for cybersecurity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system engineering, cloud development, cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on improving security processes and workflows.
• Current TS/SCI Clearance required
• Must pass FBI security suitability
• Must pass an FBI administered Counterintelligence polygraph if one has not been conducted within the last five years.
• US Citizen, no Dual Citizenship

Nice To Haves

• Experience integrating third-party components and automating operations and maintenance tasks.
• Proficiency in using Splunk, Oracle/SQL platforms, and Python.
• Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain systems and infrastructure to support cybersecurity tools and operations.
• Administer and manage Linux-based environments to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Test, implement, deploy, and maintain infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity applications.
• Develop, create, modify, and maintain computer applications, software, and specialized utility programs for cybersecurity.
• Integrate third-party components and introduce new custom capabilities, modifying existing code as necessary.
• Recommend process improvements and automate operations and maintenance tasks to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate security requirements into technical solutions.
• Conduct ongoing research to identify and incorporate emerging technologies to improve cybersecurity capabilities.
