Sev1Tech is excited to invite applications for the System Engineer II (Facilities System Engineering) position, where you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and integration of essential facility systems that support the operation and sustainment of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) program. The selected candidate will assist senior engineers in performing system-level evaluations, requirements development, and engineering analyses for facilities infrastructure supporting mission-critical systems. This position offers an incredible opportunity for early-career engineers with a systems-oriented mindset, who are enthusiastic about growth and collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment that includes mechanical, electrical, civil, and systems engineering disciplines.

  • Support the development, coordination, and management of system engineering activities for facility systems supporting GMD operations and testing.
  • Assist in defining and maintaining system requirements, functional decompositions, and interface documentation for facility subsystems (power, HVAC, communications, grounding, and environmental systems).
  • Perform analyses and trade studies related to facility capacity, environmental control, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Participate in design and peer reviews, contributing to the assessment of technical adequacy, compliance, and system integration readiness.
  • Support system verification and validation planning and execution for facility-related systems.
  • Maintain close coordination with specialty engineers (safety, RAM&T, E3, and environmental) to ensure facility designs and modifications meet system and mission requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain system engineering documentation, including requirements traceability matrices, interface control documents, and test procedures.
  • Assist with system performance modeling, data collection, and documentation updates on the Integrated Digital Data Environment (IDDE).
  • Support risk management activities by identifying, tracking, and mitigating technical and programmatic risks related to facilities systems.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government and contractor teams, to support integrated engineering efforts and reviews.
  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • ACTIVE DoD Secret clearance
  • 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, facilities engineering, or infrastructure design and integration (including internships or co-ops).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles, including requirements management, configuration management, and verification/validation processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, facility layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic modeling or CAD tools.
  • MUST BE US CITIZEN FOR GOVERNMENT CLEARANCE OR CONTRACT REQUIREMENT
  • Experience with MIL-STD or DoD facility engineering and design practices.
  • Familiarity with facility support systems such as HVAC, electrical power distribution, grounding, lightning protection, or environmental control systems.
  • Experience with reliability, maintainability, and availability (RAM) analyses for facility systems.
  • Working knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools or digital engineering environments.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental compliance in mission-critical infrastructure.
