About The Position

The Systems Engineer is responsible for implementing and supporting infrastructure solutions, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves project work related to infrastructure architecture, virtualization, containerization, storage, and team collaboration. The Systems Engineer is also responsible for on-call after-hours infrastructure support.

Requirements

• Experience with VMWare VSAN, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Azure Stack Hyperconverged Infrastructure, or Proxmox Virtual Environments.
• Experience in designing highly available systems.
• Familiarity with standards documents and governance practices.
• Knowledge of business process design and implementation.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems administration.
• Understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of network addressing, Internet protocols, and DNS.
• Familiarity with infrastructure administration and information security best practices.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server environments and Active Directory infrastructure.
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience with network storage and object storage solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a relevant field of study.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant IT experience.
• Experience with server and storage virtualization.
• Proficient in Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally preferred.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally required to run and dress network or power cables.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned infrastructure systems, ensuring their stability, security, and efficient operation.
• Complete assigned project tasks on time and within scope, ensuring project goals are met.
• Provide expert IT infrastructure knowledge and consulting for assigned projects.
• Develop infrastructure automation code and documentation to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Provide on-call after-hours IT infrastructure support on a rotating schedule.
• Support presales engineering efforts by providing infrastructure expertise to existing and prospective clients.
