Weeghman & Briggs is seeking a System Engineer 3. Join our growing team and support an important mission within the Federal Government. The position is located in Annapolis Junction, MD and requires a TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland Polygraph. The role involves analyzing system and user requirements, providing technical leadership for system transition and decommission activities, and fostering close interaction with system owners and organization POCs regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations. Daily responsibilities include supporting Dedicated Compliance Support, attending Technical Exchange and compliance certification meetings, and acting as a liaison for system certification and incident responses.

  • Analyze system and user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership for system transition and decommission activities from a compliance perspective.
  • Develop historical data migration plans with stakeholders.
  • Support Dedicated Compliance Support including research, review, monitor, manage and support various system transitions and decommissions.
  • Attend Technical Exchange and compliance certification kickoff meetings.
  • Provide answers to questions about compliance policy and tools.
  • Collaborate to gather information for follow-up questions on transition and decommissioning activities.
  • 20 years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, or 5 years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of experience in the legal or technical aspects of Intelligence Community Privacy Compliance.
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure compatibility with defined system architectures.
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans and Requirements specifications.
  • Assist with the development of system requirements and allocation to components.
  • Coordinate resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board meetings.
  • Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities.
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services.
  • Implement comprehensive SOA solutions.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas.
